Welcome to Porcupine Peak Farm
Porcupine Peak is nestled in the mountains as you descend the Rooihoogte pass, into the beautiful Koo Valley. 500 ha of rugged Karoo rock and shale terrain with magnificent mountain vistas of the Langeberg Mountain range, indigenous Fynbos, a river lined with majestic old oak trees, both pecan nuts and a pear orchard, along with a perennial spring of bottling quality water. Fauna includes the rooikat, duiker, did-dik (buck), porcupine, wild rabbits, tortoises and frogs. The Black Eagle is often seen circling above Porcupine Peak, one of the many bird species that can be spotted on the farm.
The farm is called Porcupine Peak due to the numerous amounts of porcupine quills found in the impressive kloof above the mountain cottage and rockpool. Previously it was known as Waboom Mountain Farm, named after the mountain range on the property. The existing buildings, some dating back to 1875, are comprised of a farm house and 6 cottages, offering guests a welcoming and relaxing space to get out of the rush and away from it all.
